Fruits

Ø        Complete the work of layout of an orchard and digging of pits. Size of pits depends upon soil fertility, type of fruits and size of plants but in general, it is 1m3 or circular. In areas where soils are rocky and deep soil is not available, size of pit should be increased and filled with forest soil.

Ø       Healthy and disease free plants of the desired verities and type suited to particular areas should be procured from a reliable source or may be raised in the nursery by the grower himself.

Ø       Manures, fertilizers, fungicides and insecticides which are required during the refilling of the pit should be procured well in time.

Ø        Spray 5% urea (10 kg/200 lt water) one week prior to leaf fall this will help in early leaf fall and more fruit set in the next year.

Ø       Make the basins of trees and on the trunk of tree paste the mixture of 1 kg CuSO4 + 20 kg lime + 50 lt water + 1 lt DDL upto 2-3 feet height from the ground.
